DREAM LAUNCHERS is proud to offer DREAM SKETCH Bootcamp, a two-day Sketch Journaling Bootcamp for Youth Ages 8 to 13. Sketch journaling is a creative and personal way to illustrate life through a mix of drawing, writing, and observation. This class is designed to guide learners in capturing everyday moments, thoughts, and experiences in a visual journal — no artistic background required.
Through relaxed, hands-on sessions, students will learn basic drawing techniques, how to use different tools and materials, and tips for combining illustrations with words. Whether sketching a street scene, a travel memory, or something from imagination, the focus is on self-expression, mindfulness, and storytelling.
The bootcamp is led by an experienced instructor and is designed to foster exploration, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking in young learners. We also offer a 4-Day DREAM Sketch Bootcamp during the Summer and Tutoring!

DREAM SKETCH Sketch Journaling Bootcamp For Youth Ages 8 to 13, Feb 12th - 13th
Known for her approachable style, deep empathy, and infectious love for words, Joy Thompson is a proud graduate of both the University of Miami Writing Institute and the Art Institute, where she combined her love for storytelling and creativity into a lifelong passion. With over 20 years of experience teaching elementary, middle, and high school students, Joy knows how to spark imagination and bring learning to life through art and words.
Her summer camps are vibrant spaces where she uses her talent and energy to turn blank pages into launching pads of creativity through guided journaling that sparks both giggles and a-ha moments. From crafting wild adventures to reflecting on personal experiences and drawing, doodling, and observing the world around them, students will turn their thoughts and everyday moments into meaningful stories—and their stories into works of art— one sketch, one story at a time that they will be proud to share.
Whether students are writing a poem under a tree, crafting fantasy tales or capturing their inner worlds, the will become bold thinkers, deep feelers, with sharpened skills and an open heart and lifelong love for writing.
Get ready to create, explore, and express yourself like never before!
